Inaugural Benevolent Fund Event
Kevin Thornton, recently voted Irish Chef of the Year, amazed us with his culinary skills at the Benevolent
Funds first dedicated fund raiser on Thursday Sept 13th. For those who had not made it yet to Kevin’s famous restaurant on the Green, the delectable canapés were surely worth waiting for. And after the food, Charles Searson gave us a very imformative
and humorous presentation on classic wines followed by tastings of some very enjoyable wines.
Profits from the evening went to the Union’s Benevolent Fund. Regardless of background or education, there are always those who fall on hard times and it is beholden on those of us more fortunate
to look after our contemporaries, The Benevolent Fund is a very worthy cause deserving of all our support. Our sincere thanks to Kevin and Charles for their generous support.
