Objectives for 2009
Overall, the Union is more active now than it has ever been.

Subscriptions: Our Union is not expensive to run but nor is it free. It is of some embarrassment to me that we still can not survive without the financial support of the school. I am anxious to reduce if not eliminate this dependency this year. We made some progress last year and I want to thank sincerely those who signed-up to pay the €75 annual subscription by direct debit. However, we still have a long way to go. I will be writing to you about this again over the coming months. The "Membership Subscriptions" link to the left explains more.
Social Justice: The Union plays an important role in promoting the Jesuit ethos of our schooling and our commitment of service to others through the Union's own activities and our past pupil network. More than anything else, this is our raison d'etre. This underlines the importance of the Union's role in maintaining a Benevolent Fund and in the value of the Green & White Dinner. We hope to develop further and/or help lay the groundwork for the expansion of these activities.

Thank you again to all the past pupils who have supported the Union over the past number of years by participating in Union Events and/or subscribing to the Union. We hope that you will continue to do so. I look forward to seeing you all during the year.
