Business Lunch 2007
Danuta Gray, CEO of O2 was guest speaker at the Union’s Business Lunch held in the Kildare Street and
University Club. It was the first time we had been
addressed by a lady, a point William Earley, our host and MC on the day, felt important to emphasise in
his speech. He spoke of Danuta in glowing terms and, to great applause declared that “Danuta was a
woman”!!!
The excellent speeches continued in that vein. Danuta spoke about the awkwardness of men when they
meet women in business. She shared with us amusing anecdotes of frightening encounters, cold shoulders and wet kisses from men who didn’t know what the right protocol might be but reckoned that whatever they did, they should give it their all!
Over 70 people attended the lunch and over €1,000 was raised for Danuta’s chosen charity, Autism Ireland.
