Gonzaga past pupils return to the school.......
Last Sunday afternoon (December 6th), a host of Gonzaga past pupils and their families returned to the school to celebrate the opening of the new buildings. Everyone was invited to tour the school buildings and in particular to marvel at the recent development, which includes an Auditorium, Dining Hall, New Library, Computer Room, Weights Room, Changing Rooms and Classrooms. At 3.30pm after some short speeches, the Union presented a specially commissioned piece by renowned artist and past pupil Cian McLouhglin, to the School Principal, Kevin Whirdy. Afterwards, past pupils and their families enjoyed refreshments in the new dining hall which had a wonderful Christmas atmosphere, complete with seasonal decorations and music from a sextet of the school orchestra.
Special thanks are due to Keara McAndrew and Dermot McCrum for their help in organizing the event, to Stuart McCarron for acting as MC, to Elaine Coburn and the Lady’s Committee for providing the wonderful fare and to the posse of 4th Year boys who helped with directing the guests.
